Write On: Take the Challenge

Write_On is a mission driven campaign to promote joy, creativity, expression, and connection through hand-written correspondence. Inspired by Egg Press founder Tess Darrow’s challenge to write a letter daily, the campaign launched in 2014 with the entire staff of Egg Press and Hello!Lucky challenging themselves, friends, families, and fans to write 30 letters in 30 days during April, National Letterwriting Month. Since 2015, Sakura has helped to promote this endeavor by providing Gelly Roll pens for Write On kits and spreading the word about the campaign in hopes that letter writing continues to help people connect.

Introducing Pigma Professional Brush

introducing pigma professional brush

Writes like a pen and paints a like brush – two methods in one elegant tool. The three sizes of fine, medium and bold allow for a variety of line widths and easy control of expressive marks.

Swirls, doodles, fine lines, and broad brush strokes are possible with this flexible brush-tipped pen. Pigma Brush is comfortable to hold and responds to instant changes in pressure or direction. Achieve excellent line quality with rich black, archival quality Pigma ink. Illustrators, Manga artists, cartoonists, and hand lettering artists can put pen to paper and leave a mark that will last a lifetime and is safeguarded by the lasting quality of Pigma ink.

Sakura Color Products invented and patented Pigma ink over twenty-five years ago. A formulation of pigment based inks, more complex and stable than dye based inks, Pigma ink has become the standard for what is defined as reliable, permanent, archival quality ink.

Testimonials
Tom Nguyen – visual artist
The neoprene-type tip is something else...pretty snappy, reverting quickly to form.  A very wide range of thick-to-thin lines, which is another thing older style brush pens can have trouble with.  I can go very thin--almost hairline--to thicks which are broad enough to do some blocking in of solid black areas. With the neoprene-type, it snaps back with "memory foam"-like action.  I REALLY like this.

Robert Aragon – fine art portrait artists
The one thing which I loved about it was the flow which can only be created with a brush. There is an energy and subtle movement that can only be achieved by a paint brush and I was surprised to find that this quality was inherent in the Pigma BB Pro Brush.

The Pigma Brush features:

-          Archival quality ink – chemically stable, waterproof, and fade resistant

-          No smears, feathers, or bleed-through on most papers

-          Thorough ink delivery to the sides and tip of the flexible brush

-          Flexible nib for thin and thick brush strokes

-    Extra-durable long lasting quality flexible nibs made of:

FB - a tough plastic polyacetal material

MB - a tough nylon material

BB - a tough porous polyethylene material

Average line width write-out on normal bond paper:

FB = approximately 350 meters

MB = approximately 300 meters

BB = approximately 200 meter

Proper handling and care:

-          Always replace cap when not using.

-          Do not leave uncapped for longer than 20 minutes and store in horizontal position

-          Do not drop, shake or spin pen (may cause damage or leaking)
